Episode 11 | Coastal Sovereignty and the Canadian Royal Navy | Anita Pawluk
Avneet Takhar
Indigenous women-led software company, Race Rocks 3D is founded by Anita Pawluk- whose work involves defence and aerospace training which has been provided to the Royal Canadian Navy for over a decade, as well as members of coastal Indigenous communities.
A proud Métis woman from Saskatchewan, Treaty 6 Territory, Pawluk and her dedicated team over the last 14 years have delivered over 20 million in training systems, and started the Indigenous Mariner Training program back in 2019 to serve Indigenous communities. Most recently in 2024, they launched the Indigenous Internship and Graduate program which provides practical experience and provides interns with the necessary skills to succeed in the defence and aerospace sectors.
While the Royal Canadian Navy remains the company's largest client, they're equally committed to supporting Indigenous communities in thriving within the defence and aerospace sectors, focusing on training techniques through an Indigenous lens.
An inspiring conversation on the importance of innovative solutions and centring cultural values for the growth of Indigenous representation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths), Pawluk shares her valuable insights.
